Caroline Kindy and Nick Shields founded Element in 2003 and now enjoy working with a committed and creative team.  They are both involved in Element from the moment they wake up. They live and breathe Element whilst bringing up their two daughters, and enjoying life in Yorkshire. 


CAROLINE KINDY - MANAGING DIRECTOR

Caroline works in the shop occasionally, and makes sure the business is kept well and truly on the rails.  She loves choosing and buying the jewellery, and finds this a soothing distraction from the books, the admin and marketing! 

 

 

 

 

DAWN SWINDEN - SHOP MANAGER 

Dawn is the Element Jewellery Shop Manager. She joined ranks in 2007, and heads up the staff team, using her magical touch to motivate and enthuse. She believes that Element are truly different; “We don’t stand still, and we constantly strive to inspire and excite”. Dawn has a wonderful way with people, an infectious smile and an eye for great design.

 

 

 

 

 

NICK SHIELDS - CREATIVE DIRECTOR

As well as designing distinct pieces of bespoke jewellery, Nick is the creative catalyst for Element.  The visual image of Element is all down to Nick - from amazing hand-made window displays to the website and graphic design.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ISLA AITKEN - CUSTOMER SERVICE & SALES

Isla - our Belle from Barnsley - has a passion for customer service and for elegant and pretty jewellery. She combines family life in Hebden Bridge with life’s simple pleasures - food, travel & wine. We've loved Isla since the day she came for an interview; looking as gorgeous now as she did then (2008).

 

 

 

 

 

 

ALI HALEY - CUSTOMER SERVICE & SALES

Ali joined Element in 2013. A talented jeweller, a feminist, and an all-round positive, dedicated person. We sometimes wonder where we'd be without Ali; she has all the right ingredients for the Element team - attention to detail, creativity and fabulous admin skills all rolled into one.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

MADELEINE HOYLE - CUSTOMER SERVICE & SALES 

The most recent to join the team is the wonderful Madeleine Hoyle.  Madeleine used to run a fabulous restaurant for many years, and in-fact hosted Caroline and Nick's wedding in 2005. We find that Madelaine has an inherent sense of genuine service, and you'll love her quirky nature.
